This paper includes the verification of the characteristic equation for the output current generated by a solar panel. The characteristic equation is simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink. Many factors that affect the performance of the solar energy tracking system need to be considered profoundly for the complete & effective utilization of the available energy. This work deals with the study of tracking the position of the sun and positioning the solar panel to operate at the maximum power point.
